Day 7: Time to rest!

It was so hard to leave Hiedelberg...but got up at 5:30 AM to fly to Geneva. After a scary missed approach, we landed safely and I took the shuttle bus to the airport hotel. Thanks to free pass for all public transportation in Geneva, I took the tram into the city center and walked for several hours, enjoying the historical sites including Saint Peter's Cathedral build between 1150 and 1230, the International Museum of the Reformation, and the Calvin Auditorium. I felt right at home on the campus of the University of Geneva and in the nearby park with lots of young families and  older men playing chess with over-sized pieces.

My free pass for the tram, water taxi and all public transportation - what a great idea!

Cute girl enjoying sculpture near the tram stop.

Stan: This picture is for you.  I saw this shop just as I got off the tram in Geneva.  No, I didn't buy any watches.

Checkers and chess in the city park.

  1. Love the oversized chess pieces! Geneva looks immaculate - and beautiful. Not so crowded either.
